HOW DO I ENTER?
Are you ready to enter your masterpiece? Simply head over to www.lorealcolourtrophy.com for UK entries or www.lorealcolourtrophy.ie for Ireland. Choose the category that best showcases your talent and take a moment to review the rules and Terms & Conditions on the website. Your team’s colourist can then quickly register an account – just make sure your team is finalised beforehand, as registered details can’t be changed later. Once registered, you’re all set to submit your creation online.
WHEN DOES THE COMPETITION OPEN AND CLOSE?
Entries open for the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2026 on Monday 19th January. Entries close at 6pm on Friday 27th February, so get your entries in early to avoid the last-minute rush.
Remember, anything submitted after 6pm will automatically be disqualified. We’re so excited to see what you come up with! Good luck!
WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES FOR 2026?
In Ireland, there are four L’Oréal Colour Trophy categories.
- The L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award
- The L’Oréal Colour Trophy Star Award, for 16- to 25-year-olds
- The Future Talent Award, for full- and part-time students aged 16-25 on eligible courses
- The Social Colour Creator Award, the digital category for stylists employed by a salon or working independently.
WHAT ARE THE PHOTOGRAPHIC OR VIDEO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
Before uploading your photographic or video entry, carefully review the Terms and Conditions.
- Professional photography is not required; phone-taken images are acceptable.
- All entries must be uploaded in portrait and no older than one year.

The L’Oréal Colour Trophy STAR Award,
Future Talent Award
The Colour Specialist Award.
- Social Colour Creator Award entries must include footage of the model before any colour application, as well as the completed look within the reel.
CAN I USE WEFTS, WAVES AND HAIR EXTENSIONS?
Yes, you can use wefts, weaves and hair extensions across all categories. However, they must be coloured only using L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour and cover a maximum of 25% of the head. Please not that full wigs are note allowed
CAN I BE IN MORE THAN ONE TEAM?
No; individuals can only enter one award category. If you are entering from a salon, you can have multiple teams. Please make sure you have full permission from the salon before entering.
CAN I ENTER AS AN INDEPENDENT HAIRDRESSER?
There are 2 categories you can enter as an independent hairdresser.
- Social Colour Creator Award – this is for anyone employed by a salon, or who works as an independent hair dresser.
- The Future Talent Award – this is for both full-time and part-time students aged 16-25 on eligible courses.
Please note that for all other categories, entrants should be employed by a UK or ROI hair salon.
WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT FOR ENTERING AND TAKING PART?
To compete in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy, you must be 16 years or older on the date of entry, Monday 19th January 2026. This applies to both competitors and models.
- Should you become a Grand Finalist, we will check your ID on the day of competition.
- For those aged between 16 and 18 on entry, you must have parental or guardian consent to participate.
- Please note that to enter the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Star Award or Future Talent Award, you must be between 16 and 25 years old on the date of entry.
CAN I MAKE ANY CHANGES TO MY ENTRY?
If you wish to make any changes to your application ahead of the closing date, Friday 27th February, please email [email protected], with your written consent to delete your current entry. You can then resubmit your entry with the correct information.
Once entries have closed, no changes are possible.
DOES MY MODEL/LOOK HAVE TO REMAIN THE SAME THROUGHOUT?
For the L’Oréal Colour Trophy, Afro, Star and Colour Specialist Awards, your model and model’s look can change from the photographic entry, should you make it through to the Grand Final.
This allows you to showcase your creativity. For example, you might choose to enhance your model’s makeup, hairstyle, or wardrobe to better reflect the theme or trends for the Grand Final.
CAN I USE OTHER L’ORÉAL BRAND PRODUCTS FOR MY LOOK?
No, you may only use L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour and Styling products. This includes discontinued products, provided they are within their expiry date.
You are not permitted to use colour and styling products from other brands within the L’Oréal Professional Products Division, nor any brands outside of L’Oréal.
