In 2024, the competition’s mission is simple: to embark on a quest to uncover talent from all corners of Ireland.

Entrants must create a well-executed, inspirational and modern colour look on any model, of any gender or any gender identity of any hair type. This must be complemented by a beautiful style, finish and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends.

- Innovation: Classic elements, with a brand-new twist

The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct.
Wefts, weaves and extensions covering a maximum 25% of the head using L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour can be used.
No full wigs are allowed.
Models do not have to be professional, but they have to be confident, self-assured, ‘own’ their look.
The clothes, makeup and accessories should enhance and complement the overall look that the colourist and stylist have created.
The hair colour will be the overriding factor in any decision-making process.
Entry photo must be no more than one year old at the date of entry.
Open to ROI residents aged 16+ on the entry date 19th February 2024.

The prize
Prizes (including any certificates) are awarded to the winning salon rather than individuals within a team and if any members of the winning team leave their salon they forfeit their prizes.
An opportunity to attend a trip for the winning colourist and model to photograph their winning look.
The Grand Final Winner colourist and stylist (if applicable) will each receive one free ticket to attend the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final in 2025.

This Award Category is open to individual colourists only, aged between 16 years and 25 years (inclusive) on the Entry Opening Date.
Entry Requirements:
- A “before” photo of the model prior to any colour application dated no older than one year old which must be at an angle so the face and side view of the model’s head is clearly visible.
- An “after” photo of the model once the hair has been coloured dated no more than one year old which must be at an angle so the face and side view of the model’s head is clearly visible.
These photographs will be shown to the judges to assist them in understanding the extent of the colour work performed on the model.
The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct.

The prize
This is a competition for individuals only and the prize (including any certificate(s)) will be awarded to the salon of the individual colourist in conjunction with the individual colourist. The prize
The five (maximum) winners will have:
One mentorship day at the L’Oréal International Academy.

L’Oréal Colour Trophy Moving Image Award
Entrants must create a reel on Instagram or TikTok (9:16 aspect ratio) between 30-60 seconds (maximum) of a finished hair look. The reel should be (1) artistic in vision and execution, (2) creative in compilation and edit, (3) impactful and (4) highlight the entrant’s colour, total finished look and creator skillset.

The prize
The winner will have the opportunity to attend an online course(s) of their choosing up to the total value of £700 at the University of the Arts, London.
The winner and their reel will be profiled online with a trade publication.
The winner will receive a ticket to the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final 2024.
